Ba melambangkan Hakikat Sayyidina Muhammad (saw). Allah (swt) memulai al-Qur’an suci dengannya dan memberi kemuliaan kepada Nabi (saw). Ini adalah salah satu makna dari
Wa rafa`naa laka dzikrak.
(Wahai Muhammad!) Kami telah tinggikan bagimu sebutan (namamu). (Surat asy-Syarh, 94:4)
The secret of the letter BA
The secret of the letter “Ba” with the dot under it, is that it shows the Door; the Ba is the Door to Allah (swt)! The dot under the Ba is the whole creation, because it begins with the first letter of the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Qur’an is Allah’s Ancient Words, that are not created. Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmaani ‘r-Raheem is one ayah of Holy Qur’an, which means it is Divine, not created.
Therefore, Ba is a letter that is not created. The reality behind it is that Allah (swt) put the reality of the Prophet (s) in it, which is why the Ba is always in sajda to the Alif. Its dot represents the `Alam al-`Ulwiyya wa ‘l-`Alam as-Sufliyya, the Heavenly World and the Lower World. Out of respect to the Prophet (s), who is always in sajda, the dot didn’t accept to be on top, it stayed at the bottom.
The Ba symbolizes the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Allah (swt) began the Holy Qur’an with it and gave honor to the Prophet (s). This is one of the meanings of:
Wa rafa`naa laka dhikrak.
(O Muhammad!) We have raised your remembrance. (Surat ash-Sharh, 94:4)
